Our Gardens
Phase One of our vegetable garden includes a total of thirty raised beds, ten of which are taller and more narrow than the others providing easy access for those who need it. Our beds are filled with an organic soil mix with an 80:20 soil-to-compost ratio.
Our goals include creating Intergenerational Gardening Teammates where we will partner young gardeners with seniors to work as a team. We also will host educational classes and workshops to help gardeners in a variety of ways — including seed starting, companion planting, and sustainable gardening practices. Our garden also includes a 200′ Pollinator Pathway, where we’ve planted over 1,000 native plants, shrubs and trees to support wildlife. This part of the garden will serve as an educational hub for anyone who visits the garden, with signage to help them understand what is growing and how it benefits our local ecosystem.
It started as a dream.
We made it a reality.
“In 2020, I deeply felt and heard that our community, like many others around the world, was experiencing a kind of malnourishment—both physical and emotional. I spent considerable time reflecting on how best to nourish and uplift those around me. The idea of a community garden emerged as the perfect remedy, offering more than just fresh food. It promised the essential nutrients of connection: bringing neighbors together, fostering a closer relationship with the earth, and reconnecting us with the sources of our nourishment.” Gabrielle Semel
